Description	:	Funeral services for O. B. Harrison, 73 year old Given farmer and the father of Principal J. E. Harrison of Ripley High School, will be held at the Given church today (Thursday) with Rev. J. C. Swain of the Ben's Run United Brethren church in charge, assisted by Rev. L. R. Mahoney, and burial will be in the Harrison family plot in the Fairplain cemetery. Death came suddenly to the aged farmer Tuesday. Death came suddenly to the aged farmer Tuesday. He worked as ususal on Monday and in the afternoon attended the funeral services for George W. Pfost at Fairplain. He retired about 9 o'clock Monday night and about 1 o'clock Tuesday morning Mrs. Harrison awakened and found him in a partial coma. Despite all efforts he gradually sank nearer and nearer to death throughout the morning and died shortly after the noon hour. He is survived by the widow, Dora Parsons Harrison, and the following children, Otho Harrison, Russell Harrison, and J. E. Harrison, all of Ripley, Dallas Harrison of Fairplain, Estel Harrison of Ravenswood, Ray Harrison of Parkersburg, Floyd Harrison, of Nitro, Mrs. Dixie Weekley of Rt. 2, Mrs. W. C. Stalnaker of Gvien, and Hattie Waugh of Columbus, Ohio. One sister, Mrs. I. W. Hill, of Given, and two brothers, Cornelius Harrison of Charleston and John Harrison of Liberty, also survive. Harrison, son of Bushrod and Louisa Ransom Harrison, was born at the old Harrison homestead near Emma Chapel church on Oct. 11, 1867, being 73 years, 6 months and 11 days old at the time of his death. His father was one of the early pioneer citizens of that section and Mr. Harrison had eight brothers and sisters of whom there are yet living two brothers, Cornelius Harrison and John Harrison, of Charleston, and one sister, Mrs. Alwilda Hill of Given. After the death of his father, his mother married the late Elmore Casto and the family came to Parchment to reside when Mr. Harrison was about 12 years old. His first marriage was to Clara Parsons, a daughter of Charles and Alice Parsons, and two daughters were born to them, Mrs. Hattie Waugh, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jessie Harrison who died in infancy. His first wife lived but a few years. He was married to Dora M. Parsons, a daughter of William Q. and Minerva Sayre Parsons, on Aug 17, 1893, and to this union was born nine children: Otho Harrison and Russell Harrison, both of Ripley, Dallas Harrison of Fairplain, Everett Harrison of Ripley, Mrs. Ezra Weekley of Ripley, Mrs. W. C. Stalnaker of Given, Estel Harrison of Ravenswood, Ray Harrison of Parkersburg, and Floyd Harrison of Charleston.
