Description	:	Odetta Marie Vetter, 82, died peacefully at rest at Friendship Village, Hospice of the Valley , in Temp, Ariz., on Sept. 13, 2013, after a courageous year-and-a-half long battle with cancer. Odetta was born on Aug. 22, 1931, in North Platte, to Roy and Florence Keslar Goodwin. She attended Stapleton Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1947. Odetta married Donald Eugene Vetter at St. Johns Catholic Church in Stapleton on June 4, 1947. Odetta and Don had celebrated 60 years of marriage when Don passed on Aug. 1, 2007. Odetta was born on Aug. 22, 1931, in North Platte, to Roy and Florence Keslar Goodwin. She attended Stapleton Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1947. Odetta married Donald Eugene Vetter at St. Johns Catholic Church in Stapleton on June 4, 1947. Odetta and Don had celebrated 60 years of marriage when Don passed on Aug. 1, 2007. Seven children were born, Donlinna (Tom) Ellis, of Iowa, Connie Vetter, of Minnesota, Carol (Dale) Black, of Nebraska, Sandra (Wayne) Pecjak, of Arizona, Mary Shafer, of Texas, James Vetter, of Arizona, and Debra Gregerson, of Colorado. Odetta and family lived in Stapleton until October 1965, when they moved to Basalt, Colo. There Odetta worked in the housekeeping trade in Aspen until her retirement in 2000. She attained the position of executive housekeeper for the Aspen Alps, retiring after over 20 years. Odetta and Don retired to Meadview, Ariz., to their "Cacti Patch" home. In retirement Odetta became proficient in her computer skills. In later years, she could be found traveling with her faithful canine companion, Buddy, from Arizona to Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa and Texas, often stopping at an Internet cafe for access to her email and Facebook. Odetta is survived by her brother, Leroy Goodwin; six daughters; one son; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her beloved, Don; her father, Roy Goodwin; her mother, Florence and stepfather, Carl Brose; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
