Description	:	Daughter of J.M. & Onie (Loma) Parson Rampey; widow of Arthur Joel Young. Odie Young and her son, T. Curran Young, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on the road to Norris from Liberty (possibly Hwy 93 or Old Norris Road) when their vehicle was hit head on by another driven by Glen L. Curran Young, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on the road to Norris from Liberty (possibly Hwy 93 or Old Norris Road) when their vehicle was hit head on by another driven by Glen L. Davis of Los Angeles, CA. Also seriously injured in the crash was another son, S. Clemson Young and Cleamon’s wife, unnamed in the newspaper article. The car driven by T. Curran Young was heading toward Central and was approaching the curve leading to the bridge at Norris, three miles from Liberty. The men were riding in the front seats, the women were sitting in the back. Mr. Davis, driving toward Greenville, was alone in his car. Both vehicles were Fords and were practically demolished in the accident. Glen Davis was placed under technical arrest while a patient at Six Mile Hospital. Dennis H. Rampey, coroner of Pickens County at the time, held an inquest on May 23, 1938; the coroners jury found Mr. Davis at fault for the accident, due to reckless driving. Mrs. Young was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Liberty. She was survived by 11 children, S. Cleamon Young of Liberty, J.A. Young of Easley, Raymond Young of Liberty, G.A. Young of Easley, Norman Young of Central, Furman Young and Darwin Young, both of Liberty; Mrs. J.R. (Lorena) Woodward of Aiken, Mrs. J.P. (Lulla) Laboon, Burney Young and Marion Young, all of Liberty; a brother, J.O. Rampey, a sister, Mrs. Lula Owen of Greenville, and two half sisters, Mrs. Robert Cantrell of Easley, and Mrs. Corrie Gary of Liberty. Funeral services for Odie Young and her son T. Curran Young were held on Wednesday, March 30, 1938 at First Baptist Church of Liberty, conducted by Rev. H.M. Alley, Rev. Milton Hamby, and Rev. Clarence Chastain. Burial: West View Cemetery Pallbearers for Mrs. Young: her nephews, Leon Owen, Palmer Owen, Bruce Owen, Berry Owen, Ernest Owen, and Lloyd Cantrell. Honorary escort for both mother and son: T.A. Gary, G.O. Bostick, A.E. Orr, E.F. Cantrell, A.M. Jones, D.H.Davis, Jr., J.J. Gantt, Wyatt Farr, Dewitt Kirby, Raymond Williams, T.M. Jones, Cleo Bolding, George McCrary, and Homer Freeman.
