Description	:	Ole Grotta was born in Isfjorden, Norway, on May 17, 1870. He was the youngest of a family of six children. At the age of 15 he was confirmed into the Lutheran Church of which he was a faithful member until the time of his death. He came to America at the age of twenty and resided near Esmond, SD. On January 30, 1897 he was united in marriage to Christine Mettet of Sioux City, IA. To this union were born three children. In 1908 he homesteaded near Moenville where he lived until the time of his death... Read More	Ole Grotta was born in Isfjorden, Norway, on May 17, 1870. He was the youngest of a family of six children. At the age of 15 he was confirmed into the Lutheran Church of which he was a faithful member until the time of his death. He came to America at the age of twenty and resided near Esmond, SD. On January 30, 1897 he was united in marriage to Christine Mettet of Sioux City, IA. To this union were born three children. In 1908 he homesteaded near Moenville where he lived until the time of his death Jan 23, 1937. About five years ago he became ill with heart trouble and had been in failing health since that time He was preceded in death by his parents, three borthers and one sister, and leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, three daughters; Mrs. Sophie Marrington of Ottumwa, Mrs. Olga Patton of Milesville and Mrs. Mabel Patton of Ottumwa, a sister residing in Norway and ten grandchildren. Service were held at the Deep Creek Church Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. O.H. Olson of Midland in charge. Burial was made in the Deep Creek Cemetery.
