Obituary: Olive Belle Dewey, dau of Timothy and Margaret Dewey, was born near Liberty, Nebraska on Jan 5, 1872. Since she was of strong constitution and long lived ancestry, the community was shocked to hear of her sudden passing last Thursday morning, Feb 22 (1945) at the Lady Gray home in Beatrice where she had lived for the past two years. Age 73 yrs, 1 month, and 17 days. Although she had not been able to travel far from her home or room, friends and visitors always found her conversation and memory keen and clear. Belle gave her life to Christ in young womanhood and as she was an intelligent Bible reader, she became a very capable Bible school teacher in her home church at Liberty-the Church of Christ-for quite a number of years. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, 1 brother and three sisters. She was a companion of her father in his declining years and cared for her widowed aunt, Mrs. Eliza (Dewey) Beardsley. Remaining are one brother, Charlie Dewey of Garber, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. Daisey Powell of Seattle, Wash. Also a great number of neices and nephews; besides a great host of other friends. She ends the earthly life of one among us these many years but whose memory will last until time for us, here today, is no more. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Church of Christ in Liberty, with Kenneth Hoschouer in charge. Burial in Liberty Cemetery. 60
