Description	:	Olive E. (Mudgett) Kimball, 83 ELIOT -- Olive E. (Mudgett) Kimball, 83, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She was a lifelong Eliot resident, the daughter of Frank and Marion (Ridley) Mudgett. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Gordon L. Kimball. She leaves two sons, David Kimball, of Palm Desert, Calif., and Thomas Kimball, of Gallipolis, Ohio; and a brother, Frank Mudgett, of Delta, Colo. She also leaves three grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife Catherine, of Morgantown, W.Va.; Christopher and wife Claire of Fairfax, Va.; Nicholas and wife Barbara, of Alexandria, Va.; and great-granddaughter Morrigan. She leaves as well many nieces and nephews and many friends, all of whom will greatly miss her ready smile and quick humor. She graduated from Eliot High School in 1942 and found secretarial work at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where she net her future husband's sister, who introduced them. They married a year later and when her children were older she returned to a long career in retail sales, as a buyer and later office manager for Portsmouth department stores. She enjoyed decorating the home that she and her husband built together in an apple orchard near the Eliot Library. After their retirement, she enjoyed travel and wintered for the better part of two decades in Zephryhills, Fla., where relatives and friends were frequent and welcome guests. In recent years declining health limited her mobility but not her good nature and compassionate spirit--throughout her life she was quick to ask about your troubles and slow to speak of hers.
