Olive was born March 5, 1909, the daughter of Owen and Minnie Pettyjohn Godfrey, in Hamilton. She was a long-time resident in the Melcher-Dallas area and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Evert. She is survived by two sons: Marvin of Ankeny, and Irvin of Melcher-Dallas; two daughters, Betty Waters and Barbara Kelsheimer, both of Melcher-Dallas; a brother, Charles Godfrey of Hamilton; three sisters Irene Clipperton of Hamilton, Elvia McCombs of Newton, and Erma Simmons of Mitchellville; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Melcher-Dallas Rescue Squad. Arrangements were made by Mosher Funeral Home, Melcher-Dallas.
