Was Prominent Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church--Funeral Monday.-- After suffering for almost two years from a stroke of parlysis, Oliver Kurriger, Sr., died at 7 o'clock this morning at his home, 1123 Logan street. Oliver Kurriger, Sr., was born in Germany November 28, 1842. When only eight years old, he was brought to this country by his parents who settled in Louisa county. When the young man had attained his majority he moved to Lake township in Muscatine county and soon became one of the county's most prominent farmers. He operated the farm for 25 years, after which he retired and moved to Muscatine, where he has lived for the last 15 years. He was married to Miss Caroline Brossart December 2, 1867, in this city. Eleven children were born, none of whom survive the stricken man. They are Mrs. George Hartman, 1123 Logan street; Mrs. Josephine Kent, Grandview, Ia.; Mrs. Carrie Zukasty, Sweetland township; Mrs. Nora Hathaway, Cemetery Lane; Phillipp Kurriger, Lucas street; Frank Kurriger, Lake township; Edward Kurriger, Fruitland township; George Kurriger, Bayfield, Ia.; and Oliver Kurriger, Jr., 1125 Logan street, this city. His wife and twenty-nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive him. The deceased was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic church of this city, from whence the funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning. The Rev. Father J. I.
