Description	:	Oliver Frederick Niner, 89, of Oakland, MD died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at his home. Born February 1, 1929 in Crellin, MD, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Cora E. (Bucklew) Niner. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy A. (Friend) Niner; three sons, Richard Niner; David L. Niner; Kenneth P. Niner; a brother, Elmer Niner; a sister, Audrey Harvey. Oliver was the owner of Niner Construction Company and was a stone mason and equipment operator. Born February 1, 1929 in Crellin, MD, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Cora E. (Bucklew) Niner. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy A. (Friend) Niner; three sons, Richard Niner; David L. Niner; Kenneth P. Niner; a brother, Elmer Niner; a sister, Audrey Harvey. Oliver was the owner of Niner Construction Company and was a stone mason and equipment operator. Although he loved running his equipment his work as a stone mason has left a mark on the area. There are numerous homes in Garrett County that have fireplaces and stone exteriors displaying his true talent. He is survived by a son, Roger L. Niner (Darla), Oakland; two daughters, Marilynn S. Echols (Paul), Orlando, FL; Helen L. Stephens (Michael), Oakland; a sister, Leota Warnick, Oakland; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted at Crossroads Church, 17781 Garrett Highway, Oakland on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Marsh officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Judie Hopkins, Terry Friend, and Tracey Uphold for all they did for Oliver and the family.
