Kefauver, Ill For About Two Weeks Succumbing to an attack of acute indigestion, Oliver H. Kefauver, a prominent farmer of Middletown district, died at his home, Thursday morning at about 10 o'clock. His older brother, Morgan Kefauver, who had been ill for two weeks, died at the home of his daughter, Miss Marceline Kefauver, Middletown, less than three hours later. Oliver H. kefauver was apparently in good health when he went to work Thursday morning. At about 9:30 o'clock he came in from the field and dropped into a chair complaining of being tired. He conversed with his wife for some 15 minutes and when the latter left him he seemed in good health. He then conversed with some one on the telephone for a few minutes. Immediately after he completed the conversation, Mrs. Kefauver heard her husband breathing hard and hurried into the room. She found him leaning back in the chair and attempted to raise his head. Mr. Kefauver died a short time later. Dr. R. V. Hauver was summoned from Middletown and after an examination announced that death had been caused by acute indigestion. Although Mr. Kefauver had seemed in the best of health, it is is said that he had been complaining of not feeling well since Monday. He was aged 71 years nine months and 13 days and was the son of the late Jacob and Lena (Coblentz) Kefauver. He purchased the farm on which he died from John Siffezi in 1880. At that time it contained 80 acres which he later enlarged until it contained 113 acres of which 75 was good farm land. He erected the present residence house, a two story frame building containing 10 rooms in 1898? He was married twice. His first wife was Martha F. Neikirk, daughter of George and Mary (Bachtel) Neikirk, Washington county. His second wife, whom he married on September 2, 1884 was Lillie Neikirk, a sister of the first wife. His second wife survives. Mr. Kefauver was an active member of Christ reformed church, Middletown, having been both a deacon and an elder of the congregation. In politics he was an ardent Republican. The following children survive: Mrs Edgar L. Hargett, near Frederick; Grayson N. Kefauver, Fresno, Cal.; Floyd S. Kefauver, Washington D.C.; Norman O. Kefauver, Martinsburg, W.Va.; Albert C. Kefauver, Braddock Heights; Roy J. Kefauver, Middletown; George H., Orville H. and Nora M. Kefauver, all at home. He is also survived by by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. George Koogle, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Charles Routzahn, Hagerstown; Mrs. Charles Rudy, Middletown; W. Scott Kefauver and Millard Kefauver, Braddock Heights, and Robert Kefauver, Middletown. Death of Brother His brother, Morgan N. Kefauver, a retired farmer, died at the home of his daughter, Marceline Kefauver, a member of the faculty at Middletown high school in Middletown, about 12:45 o'clock Thursday afternoon. He was aged 80 years seven months and 14 days. He had been confined in bed for about two weeks. He had been an enterprising farmer of Middletown district up until a few years ago and has since lead a retired life. He was a member of Christ Reformed church. The deceased is survived by two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Essie Willard, wife of Ridgeley Willard, south of Middletown; Miss Marceline Kefauver, Middletown; Hubert Kefauver, Hackensack, N.J. and Russell Kefauver, Waynesboro, Pa. Both funerals will be held Saturday afternoon, September 22. That of Oliver H. Kefauver will leave the house at 1:30 o'clock with services at Christ Reformed church, Rev. Dr. Geo. Albert Snyder officiating. the funeral of Morgan N. Kefauver will leave his home at 3:30 o'clock with services at Christ Reformed church under the direction of Dr. Snyder. C. T. K.
