On-line records show him listed in Boise, Idaho, in the 1917-1918 World War I Draft Registrations. He is shown in the 1930 Census of Long Beach, California, with a wife Naomi, a son Carl C. Goodman, age 4, born in Oregon, and a stepson Charles W. Wells, 13, born in Idaho. Carl C. Goodman died on January 29, 1952, in Los Angeles County, California. His date of birth is shown as February 3, 1886, Iowa, and his mother's maiden name is Peck, the same as on his marriage record to Edna. Ollie Edna Holmes married an Earl H. McCoy on January 18, 1912, in Batavia, Iowa; however, it appears that this marriage was short-lived. In 1917, Ollie Edna Holmes married Thomas E. Brown officiating. Burial in Agency cemetery. "In Memoriam," From "Ottumwa Courier," October 7, 1919: OLLIE EDNA HOLMES Ollie Edna Holmes was born September 21, 1887, and departed this life October 3, 1919, being 32 years and 12 days of age. She was united with the Christian church at Batavia in the year 1904 and was united in marriage to Carl Clayton Goodman in October 1905. To this union were born two children, Vera aged 15, and Earl, age 11. She was a tender, loving mother and a gracious affectionate sister, and numbered her friends by her acquaintances. Besides her children, three sisters, Mrs. Joicy Goughnour, Mrs. Nettie McReynolds and Mrs. Dollie Carter with three brothers, Albert, James, and Russell, survive her and with trust in the Lord of all hope to meet their loved one again in the land where there is no sorrow. The funeral was held from the Christian church at Agency conducted by Rev. John A. Brown of Batavia. Interment followed in Agency cemetery.-Contributed.
