Description	:	Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Wednesday, January 31, 1940 Mrs. Arthur England, member of one of the older families in the Phillips community, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning at the family's farm home, 4 1/2 miles north of Phillips. Read More	Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Wednesday, January 31, 1940 Mrs. Arthur England, member of one of the older families in the Phillips community, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning at the family's farm home, 4 1/2 miles north of Phillips. She had been ill for the past 18 months. Oma Devore, daughter of Edmund and Ida Lacy Devore, was born Feb. 6, 1982, at Phillips, her life-long home. After completing her education, she was employed for several years at the Phillips State bank, was employed in the Hamilton county agent's office for one year and served as a school teacher for three years. On Sept. 4, 1923, at Julesburg, Colo., she married Arthur England. She was a member of the Methodist church at Phillips, was active in its missionary society and took a prominent part in the affairs of the Rebekah lodge in Grand Island. Surviving besides her husband are her mother, Mrs. Ida Devore; a sister, Mrs. Harry Olsen, and two nephews. Her father died in March of 1911. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon in the Methodist church at Phillips. Rev. Frank Bartleson will conduct the rites and burial will be in the family plot in the Phillips cemetery.
