Born May 17, 1891, in Putnam County, she was a daughter of Lewis and Mary Saunders Shirey.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd; a daughter, Mrs. Alva (Mary Ellen) Bowman of 1807 St. Johns Rd.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Gibson of Columbus Grove.

She was a member of the First EUB Church, Gold Star Mothers, Elders Club and the Old Time Cigar Makers.
