Watson, daughter of Russell Spicer and Myrtle Pearl Taylor Spicer was born July 1, 1909 at Stoddard, Nebraska and passed away on April 26, 2002 at the Brodstone Memorial, Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 25 days. Opal received her education in the public schools. She was united in marriage to Charles Murrey on November 13, 1929 and to this union two children were born, Dona Deana and Donald. She was united in marriage to Charles F. Watson on September 17, 1933 and to this union two children were born, Gary Lee and Richard Lynn. Opal was a homemaker. She was a member of the Formoso Community Church, Formoso, Kansas. Laurel Hill Club, Friendly Corners Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Myrtly Pearl Spicer, husband, Charles F. Watson, one son, Donald Murrey, two brothers, Harold Spicer and Gerald Spicer, one sister, Betty Rowland. She is survived by one daughter, Dona Deane Sorich and husband Walter of San Jose, California; two sons, Gary L. Watson and his wife Stephanie of Kansas City, Missouri; Richard L. Watson an his wife Verlene of Hardy, Nebraska; one daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Murrey of Denver, Colorado; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of Cinnamon Rolls and Peanut Butter Pie Lovers and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1, 2002, 10:30 a.m., Formoso Community Church, Formoso, Kansas, conducted by Pastor Robert Elwell. Interment was made at the Balch Cemetery, rural Formoso.
