Description	:	Opal G. "Jones" Warneke Orsborn 81, died January 9, 1986, at Prosser. She was born in Iowa January 3, 1905. She was married to Carl Warneke, in Spokane, on January 31, 1923, at the Bess Coleman home. They made their home on the North River Road in Prosser, where they farmed until Mr. Warneke's death in 1940. On June 7, 1946, she married Everette Orsborn in Seattle and they moved to Tacoma where Mr. Orsborn was employed at Fort Lewis. They later moved to Grandview and operated the Corner Inn. She was married to Carl Warneke, in Spokane, on January 31, 1923, at the Bess Coleman home. They made their home on the North River Road in Prosser, where they farmed until Mr. Warneke's death in 1940. On June 7, 1946, she married Everette Orsborn in Seattle and they moved to Tacoma where Mr. Orsborn was employed at Fort Lewis. They later moved to Grandview and operated the Corner Inn. In 1951 they moved to Lee Road, Prosser where they lived until Mr. Orsborn's death in 1979. Mrs. Orsborn continued to live on the farm until 1986 when she moved into Prosser. Mrs. Orsborn was a member of Buena Vista Grange, the Neighbors of Woodcraft; the Order of Eastern Star and a life member of the Benton County Historical Museum. She had been employed as a nurse's aid for more than 20 years, prior to her retirement. Funeral services were held at the Central Christian Church with the Rev. William Cooley officiating. Tom Smith was soloist; Patsy Mercer and Sharon Lyon were organists. The songs were "Sheltered in the Arms of God" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Jim Enyeart, Terry Enyeart, Roy Kohn, Steve Kohn, Michael Orsborn and Kirk Barker. Burial was in East Prosser Cemetery. Mrs. Orsborn is survived by one son, Donald Warneke of Prosser; two stepdaughters, Venetta Grunert of Ocean Shores and Lorraine Nath of Elma; one stepson, Ed Orsborn of Seattle; a number of grand and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Violet Schaper of Yakima and Helen Knox of Walla Walla; one brother, LaVerne Jones of Gresham, Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dessie King. Note: An oral history from Opal was taped by Cora Mason on August 10, 1979. Cora Mason printed four volumes of "Conversations with Early Prosser Pioneers" from the audio tapes she compiled from her interviews. These books and the oral tapes are located in the Benton County Historical Museum in Prosser, Washington. Information submitted by Joyce Larsen, Museum Volunteer.
