Description	:	Funeral services for Opal "Joyce" Osborn, age 91, formerly of Meadow Grove, will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden, Nebraska. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Creek, Nebraska. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. Opal Joyce Osborn, the daughter of William and Opal Gladys (Launt) McKnight was born on November 19, 1919 at Tilden, Nebraska. She passed away at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota on February 9, 2011 after a brief illness at the age of 91. Joyce attended Tilden Elementary and High School and graduated from Battle Creek High School with the class of 1937. On May 20, 1939 she was united in marriage to Carl (Jack) Osborn at Columbus. They made their home in Meadow Grove, and then in the Norfolk area until returning to Meadow Grove in 1980. Joyce was employed at the Seacrest Motel, the Lutheran Hospital and Speedwash Laundromat while living in Norfolk. Following her husband's death December 13, 1989, Joyce moved back to Norfolk. In 1998 she moved to Lakeville, MN to be close to her youngest daughter and her family. Joyce enjoyed sewing quilts and embroidering for the family and friends. She always had a supply of baby blankets on hand for the next grandchild. She was an avid and competitive card player. She enjoyed gardening and canning the harvest while her green thumb provided her with an abundance of thriving houseplants. Joyce is survived by two sons, Donald C. Osborn of Denver, Colorado, and Wayne E Osborn of Casper, Wyoming: two daughters Jackalyn J. (Mrs. Charles) Koopmann of Macon, Missouri, and Shirley J. "Holly" (Mrs. Dennis) Bohm of Lakeville, Minnesota. Nineteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, three step-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, one son Gary D Osborn of Mitchell, Nebraska, one daughter Carolyn Kay of Norfolk, Nebraska, three brothers: Billy D. McKnight, of Weiser Idaho, Harlan McKnight of Salem, Oregon, Edwin McKnight of Weiser, Idaho, two sisters: Maxine Sage of Hutchison, Kansas, Lois (Mrs. Bill) Hansen of Tilden, Nebraska, three grand children and one great grandson. Funeral services in Minnesota will be Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lakeville, Minnesota where she was a member. Local services will be on Tuesday February 15, 2011 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home, Tilden, Nebraska with burial to follow in the Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Creek.
