Description	:	Opal Thelma Cook, age 96, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at a Topeka hospital. Thelma was born October 21, 1914 in Niobrara, Nebraska the daughter of Louis Janovec and Marie Bauman Janovec. She graduated from Niobrara High School in 1932. She married Willard F. Cook on May 29, 1933 in Butte, NE. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2005. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 400 in Topeka. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry C. Thelma was born October 21, 1914 in Niobrara, Nebraska the daughter of Louis Janovec and Marie Bauman Janovec. She graduated from Niobrara High School in 1932. She married Willard F. Cook on May 29, 1933 in Butte, NE. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2005. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 400 in Topeka. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry C. Cook in August of 1987; two brothers, Lloyd Janovec, Leonard Janovec and four sisters, Vlasti Kurka, Elsie Krupicka, Mary Janovec and May Janovec. She is survived by two sons, Duane (Linda) Cook and Lonny (Karon) Cook, both of Topeka; a daughter, Delores Isenhower of Pahrump, NV; two brothers, Delmar Janovec (Charlotte) of Holton and Clarence Rusty Janovec of Niobrara, NE; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Sunday from 1:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral with visitation from 2:00 4:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 400 in Topeka. Online condolences may be made at the davidsonfuneral.com.
