He married Angie Lewis Evans on 10/23/1912 in Seymour, Iowa. __________________________________________________________ Oran Wayne Faris Obituary Oran Wayne Faris, son of Ansil Algernon and Emma Mabee Faris, was born May 22, 1892, and departed this life July 9, 1960, at his home in Seymour, his age being 68 years, one month and 17 days. He grew to manhood on a farm one half mile east of Antioch, living his entire life in Wayne County. He was united in marriage to Angeline Evans on October 23, 1912. To this union was born a son, Evans, of Seymour. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church, the IOOF and Rebekah lodges. He was a farmer and a barber by trade for 35 years, having worked in various places. He suffered a paralytic stroke December 10, 1954, and was confined to his bed five years and seven months. His jovial nature continued throughout his long illness and he thoroughly enjoyed his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Grace Walker. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife, a son, and daughter-in-law, and a sister, Alta Leach. He also leaves other relatives and a vast multitude of friends and neighbors. Rev. William A. Pollock conducted the funeral at the Liggett Funeral Home Tuesday with burial following at Southlawn Cemetery. Milton Albertson sang “No Night There” and “Beyond the Sunset”, accompanied by Mrs. Vernon Cain. Pallbearers were Junior Harbert, Ted Hickerson, Floyd Patterson, Jay Williams, Ed Adams and Harry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Freeman McKee, Clarence Davison, Ray Banks, Roy Hickerson, Raymond Hickerson and Ralph Hickerson. Seymour Herald 07.14.1960 Page 8 _______________________________________________________ Wayne Faris Taken During His Sleep Wayne Faris, an invalid for the past five and one-half years, died unexpectedly at his home early last Friday morning. His wife found that he had passed on during his sleep in the early morning hours. He was 68 years old, a life-time resident of Wayne County. The Farises moved to Seymour last September from their farm at Antioch. Faris was a retired farmer and barber. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Evans, and daughter-in-law, Reva. A sister, Mrs. Alta Leach, also survives. Funeral services were Tuesday at the Liggett Funeral Home with burial in Southlawn Cemetery.
