Description	:	Orand Dwight Persinger, only son of Fred and Luella May Hess Persinger, was born Dec. 4, 1912, on a farm near Scandia, Kan. He died Dec. 3 in the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 29 days. He attended and graduated from Hardy High School. Persinger farmed in the Hardy community for 60 years. After retiring from the farm they moved to Superior where they had made their home for the past 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Berniece. Surviving are his wife, June; son, Ronald Lee Persinger, Windsor, Colo.; daughter, Mrs. Douglas Modlin (Patricia), Hastings; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Karen and Kerri Persinger and Kimberly, Brian, Tory and Amanda Modlin; one great granddaughter, Summer Dawn Modlin; and other relatives. The funeral was Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m., from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shelby Barnhart officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
