Mr. Cogdill was the son of the late Blake and Estell Compton Cogdill. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy and Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include three sons, Michael Cogdill and Gail Robinson, Tony Cogdill and Scottie Cogdill, all of Cross Anchor; a daughter, Mary Hogan of Cross Anchor, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
