Sayre, 77, of Amesville, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens from injuries received in an auto accident. Born July 12, 1930, in Trimble, he was the son of the late Maynard and Alyce Kasler Sayre. He retired from Columbia Gas Corp. and had farmed for many years. Orland was a member of The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons 278 of Amesville, and an honorary member of Trimble Masonic Lodge 557, The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, The Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, Athens 015 Knights Templar, Aladdin Shriners of Columbus, Athens County Shrine Club and The Order of Eastern Star. He also served his country in the U.S/ Marine Corps during Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy J.; a sister, June Williams of Glouster; a brother, Harold R. (Norma) Sayre of Amesville; a niece, Susan Sayers of Glouster; and a nephew, Richard Williams. Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, with Jack Sedwick officiating. Burial will be in Amesville Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by Athens American Legion, Athens VFW and Albany VFW.
