Donoho, 80, Grant, one of Montgomery County’s early residents, died suddenly of heart trouble Wednesday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. John High in Kansas City where he and his wife had been spending the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Donoho went to Kansas City late last December and had expected to return home Wednesday. Mr. Donoho was carrying some of their luggage out to load in their car in preparation for the trip home when on his second trip downstairs he was overcome by a sinking spell caused by heart weakness. After taking the first aid remedies, he was placed in bead where in thirty minutes he died. Mr. Donoho was born in Milford, now Grant, September 28, 1855 and lived in Grant and within half a mile of that town all his life. He was the first white child born in Douglas Township. He began working there as a carpenter in 1873, which trade he followed for many years. He invested his earnings in land and at the time of his death owned more than 400 acres in the vicinity of Grant. His home farm joins the town of Grant on the West. He was a n extensive cattle breeder and cattle feeder. He was married there on October 1, 1879 to Miss Lottie Hunt, who also was born there and who survives him. They had no children. They lived many years on their farm but for the last twenty years have been resident of Grant. Mr. Donoho was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Masonic Lodge. He was formerly a member of the board of supervisors of Montgomery County. His body was brought to the Wolfe Funeral Chapel in Villisca arriving here Wednesday night at 11 o’clock, accompanied by Mrs. Donoho and her two nieces of Kansas City. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the M. E. Church in Grant conducted by the Rev. Frank Moore, pastor of the church and the Rev. A. Breeling of Lewis, former pastor in Grant.
