Description	:	PITTSBURGH, PA. - Orley I. Holtan, 61, of Slippery Rock, Pa., died Saturday, Oct. 8, 1994, in the Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. The son of Sigurd and Edna Holtan, he was born April 19, 1933, in Duluth, Minn. He graduated from Billings Senior in 1950. Orley retired in May 1994 from Slippery Rock University where he had been employed since 1967. From 1960 to 1961 he taught at Morehead State College in Morehead, Ky. While at Slippery Rock, Orley taught theater, speech and dramatic literature. He had written numerous articles and published two books... Read More	PITTSBURGH, PA. - Orley I. Holtan, 61, of Slippery Rock, Pa., died Saturday, Oct. 8, 1994, in the Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. The son of Sigurd and Edna Holtan, he was born April 19, 1933, in Duluth, Minn. He graduated from Billings Senior in 1950. Orley retired in May 1994 from Slippery Rock University where he had been employed since 1967. From 1960 to 1961 he taught at Morehead State College in Morehead, Ky. While at Slippery Rock, Orley taught theater, speech and dramatic literature. He had written numerous articles and published two books on theater. He was past president of the Theater Association of Pennsylvania. Survivors include his mother, Edna Holtan, of Billings; a niece, Lori Holtan, of Billings; one aunt, Berta Roba, of Rock Island, Ill.; three cousins; and a very special friend, Marylin Fisher, of Pittsburgh. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, in Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial services are planned for Slippery Rock at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
