His childhood years were spent in Clay County where he received his education at Riverton County School and also attended Spencer High School He married Winnie C. Carr on July 3, 1929 in Clay County. Following their marriage, they live in the communities of Spencer, Carson, Oakland and Council Bluffs, until moving back to Spencer For many years, he was a truck driver for the Alcan Highway to Alaska from 1942 to 1943. While in Spencer, he farmed and was fire chief for the fire department. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Council Bluffs Mr. Mincer was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters He is survived by his wife, Winnie of Spencer; three sons; William and his wife, Patricia Mincer, Robert and his wife, Betty all of Spencer and Ted and his wife Shirley Mincer of Belle Vista, Arkansas; three daughters; Lola and her husband Richard Fiddelke of Marshalltown, Katherine and her husband, Jim McMartin of Oakland and Marvel and her husband, Bob Caskey of Council Bluffs; 20 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers of Washington, and Roger Mincer of Milford; one sister Madlin Robbins of Fremont, Nebraska; other relative and friends Spencer Daily Reporter, Spencer, Clay County, Iowa October 9, 2000 47825781 Obituary contributed by Sharon Hesebeck #47825781
