Orlonzo William Marker, eldest son of William and Sarah Zerbe Marker was born, October 7, 1880 near Cedar Bluff, Iowa, and passed away at his home Saturday morning, July 21, 1951, at the age of seventy years, nine months and fourteen days. Orlonzo William Marker, eldest son of William and Sarah Zerbe Marker was born, October 7, 1880 near Cedar Bluff, Iowa, and passed away at his home Saturday morning, July 21, 1951, at the age of seventy years, nine months and fourteen days. Lon spent the earlier years of his childhood in the Cedar Bluff vicinity, moving with his parents to Mechanicsville, Iowa, and living there for a short time until their death. Later in life he returned to the Cedar Bluff and Buchanan communities where he spent the remaining days of his life in his chosen profession. At the age of nineteen he was baptized and taken into the Christian Church at Cedar Bluff and remained a member until his passing. On January 26, 1915 he was united in marriage to Katherine E. Frederick and to this union three children were born; Geneva Elizabeth who passed away at the age of nine, Dorothy Faye in infancy, and Carl Clelland who resides with his mother in Buchanan. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed in his home and by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife and son Carl; three sisters, Blanche, Mrs. Ray Davidson, Laurens, Iowa; Mabel, Mrs. Guy Johnston, Lisbon, Iowa; Grace, Mrs. Albert Winjet, Rockford, Illinois; also a half brother, Frank Marker, Shell Lake, Wisconsin. A sister, Vera, Mrs. Ralph Armento of Lakewood, New Jersey, preceded him in death about three years ago. Pallbearers were Ray Davidson, Albert Winjet, Norman Frederick, Gilbert Frederick, Carl Frederick and George Brumagim. Burial was in Shawver cemetery, Cedar Bluff.
