Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Greeley Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Antony Thekkekara will officiate. Burial will be in the Greeley Sacred Heart Cemetery. T.J. Read More	GREELEY — Orren William “Jr.” Wood, 82, of Greeley passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at the Greeley Care Home. Finn and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Orren William was born Jan. 28, 1934, at Greeley to Orren Lee and Mary Theresa (McManus) Wood. He was raised in Greeley, where he attended Reed Grade School and graduated from Greeley Sacred Heart School in 1951. On Oct. 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Catherine “Catsy” O’Neill at Greeley. The couple made their home in Greeley, where they raised their 18 children. As a young man Jr. helped with the thrashing and later traveled to Kansas with a combine to do custom wheat harvest. He continued to do custom truck driving throughout his life. Jr. operated Wood Bros. Case Implement shop with his father until 1980. Jr. and Catsy purchased the Brick Palace in July of 1990, and operated it for 13 years. Catsy passed away March 9, 2005, and Jr. remained in Greeley until his passing. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jr. enjoyed flying, going to sales and collecting CASE memorabilia. Survivors include 10 sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Janet, Bob and Tammy, all of Greeley, P.J. and Theresa of St. Paul, Rick and Kelli and Terry and Mary Jo, all of Greeley, Tim and Renee of St. Paul, Jeff and Sherri of Greeley, Jason and Lisa of Grand Island, Dan and Stacy of Hawaii, and John Paul and Mandi of Gretna; six daughters and sons-in-law, Deb (Mrs. Denny) Obermiller of Loup City, Linda and Al Nielsen, Susie and Bob Lammers and Lisa Wood, all of Greeley, Cheryl and Paul Harding and Sharon Wood and her partner, Les Millspaugh, all of Grand Island; two daughters-in-law, Lisa (Mrs. Ronnie) Wood of Papillion and Michelle (Mrs. Randy) Wood of Greeley; 40 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one expected great-great-grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Nancy Wood of Greeley; and five sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean Butcher of Greeley, Jane and Dick Kittridge of Grand Island, Janet Kelly of Omaha, Judy and Ed Warner of Loup City and Jill and Terry Torson of Kearney. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine; two sons, Ronnie and Randy; a son-in-law, Denny Obermiller; and two brothers-in-law, Harvey Butcher and Dan Kelly.
