Description	:	EARL MYERS Funeral services for Earl Myers, Rock Island Engineer, who died unexpectedly at his home in Trenton, Mo., on Thursday, July 21, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25 at the Trenton Methodist church, was the officiating minister. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran cemetery at Douds, Ia. Graveside services were conducted at 4:30, Monday, July 25 by the Hyson-Reneker American Legion post of Douds. Read More	EARL MYERS Funeral services for Earl Myers, Rock Island Engineer, who died unexpectedly at his home in Trenton, Mo., on Thursday, July 21, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25 at the Trenton Methodist church, was the officiating minister. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran cemetery at Douds, Ia. Graveside services were conducted at 4:30, Monday, July 25 by the Hyson-Reneker American Legion post of Douds. Mr. Myers was the son of John H. and Stella Mae Conner Myers. He was married to Mildred Crawford on Aug. 14, 1917 at Keosauqua. He enlisted in World War I and served for two years with Co. M of the Rainbow Division. In 1922 he moved to Eldon where he became an employee of the Rock Island. In December, he transferred to Trenton, Mo., where he and Mrs. Myers have since made their home and he continued as an employee of the Rock Island. They were the parents of two daughters both of whom preceded their father in death. Helen, age 8, died in 1930 and Marian, age 22, died in 1942. Survivors include his wife, Mildred and four sisters: Mrs. John Edwards, Mrs. Floyd Trout of Douds; Mrs. Earl Trout of Ft. Collins, Co., and Mrs. Fred Hargrave of Flint, Mich.; two brothers, Oscar Myers of Appleton, Wisc.; and H.A. Myers of Ottumwa. He was a member of the Methodist church, Trenton Lodge No. 111 AF & AM; Trenton Chapter No. 66 RAM; Trenton Council No. 337 R & S; Godgrey de Bouillion Commandery No. 24 KT; The Moila Temple of the Shrine, the Legion of Honor, Parsons Chapter No. 189 of Eastern Star; The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Joseph L. Norton Post No. 919, VFW of which he served as commander in 1945-46; the General Douglas McArthur Chapter of the National Association of Rainbow Div. Veterans, Co. M., of which he was president for 1960, of Red Oak, Iowa; the Knights of Phythias and the American Legion of Douds, Ia. Mr. Myers spent six years as a member of the Grundy County Missouri draft board and he had 38 years of service with the Rock Island Railroad. Source: Van Buren Co.
