Description	:	Orval was born and raised on the family's farm in Creighton, Knox Co, NE. He graduated from Bloomfield High School. On 25 May 1947, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bristow, NE, he married Charlotte Cox. They farmed near Bloomfield, NE until 1979 when they moved to Orval's beloved log house in Bloomfield. Orval was a skilled carpenter and took part in many building and repair projects in the church, school and community. He was also a horseman and enjoyed his cutting horses. He graduated from Bloomfield High School. On 25 May 1947, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bristow, NE, he married Charlotte Cox. They farmed near Bloomfield, NE until 1979 when they moved to Orval's beloved log house in Bloomfield. Orval was a skilled carpenter and took part in many building and repair projects in the church, school and community. He was also a horseman and enjoyed his cutting horses. He loved being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and always made time for his daughter's activities and loved to do special things for them. Orval was a good friend and a generous neighbor. He always made time to help somebody in need and enjoyed his card games and coffee time with friends. Orval enjoyed life, family and friends and had a great sense of humor. Orval served on the Morton township board when he farmed and served on the school board. He served as both elder and trustee at the First Trinity Lutheran Church and was instrumental in getting the new parsonage built. Orval and Charlotte had three daughters, Julie, Darlene and Miriam. Orval passed away at the Wausa Golden Living Center in Wausa, NE. He was survived by his wife, daughters and sons-in-law; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter; nieces; nephews; and sisters, Leona, Dorothy and Arlene. Orval was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Stasie, Agnes and Velda; brothers, Arnold, Carl and Stanley.
