Read More	Thanks John for sharing. Ottumwa Courier October 24, 1946 Young Ottumwa Father Of 8 Believed Drowned Search in Chariton River For Body of Orville Hucks, 32. Search for the body of Orville Ernest Hucks, Jr., of 540 Summit St., who is believed to have drowned in a fishing accident early today near Glenwood, Missouri, it was still being made at noon today. Hucks, an employee of John Morrell & Co., drove to the Chariton River late yesterday afternoon with Pat Crowe and John Huff also of Ottumwa, for a fishing expedition. At about 2:30 this morning, the boat from which they were fishing capsized and only Crowe and Huff reached the bank. On failing to find Hucks, they notified Highway Patrol officers and the sheriff's office in Lancaster and telephoned the family here. A searching party organized there began dragging the river near the scene of the mishap, and Ace Albertson, veteran river man here, was sent down to direct the search. The body had not been recovered at noon. Hucks, 32, is the father of eight small children. His wife, Mrs. Maxine Hucks, left for Glenwood shortly after receiving the word early today. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Hucks Sr., 538 Summit St., and has two brothers, Donald and Melvin Hucks, and one sister, Mary Hucks at home.
