Description	:	Funeral services for Orville G Wengert, 68, well known retired farmer, who passed away suddenly in Nevada on Wednesday, November 24th, were held Friday afternoon from St John Lutheran Church with the Rev Erwin Wiedbush, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Military graveside rites were conducted by the Harland G Pfantz Post of the American Legion. Interment was in St John's cemetery. Mr Wengert was born December 30, 1895 near State Center, the son of George and Dora German Wengert. He grew up and was educated in the schools in this area. He was united in marriage to Lorna Voigt at Fort Dodge on June 11, 1919. They made their home on a farm near here until his retirement. They moved to State Center where they resided for a year before returning to their farm home where they had since lived in retirement. Mr Wengert was well known over Iowa as a purebred stock breeder. He was a veteran of World War I. Mr Wengert was a member of St John Lutheran Church and for many years served as secretary for the St John's Cemetery Association. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs Kenneth Bryant of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and two grandchildren, Kent and Kim of Ft Walton. Also surviving are a brother, Roland Wengert of State Center; three sisters, Mrs Jim Richeson of State Center; Mrs Gus Lahr of Artesia, California and Mrs J H Boeckenbauer of Des Plaines, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. December 3, 1964 State Center Enterprise.
