Description	:	NEWCASTLE, Neb. - Orville L. Hoesing, 87, of Newcastle passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, Neb. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle, with the Revs. David Liewer and Kenneth Hoesing, his nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Newcastle. Visitation with the family will begin at 5 p.m. today, with a parish wake service at 7 p.m., at the church parish hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Orville was born March 31, 1922, in Cedar County, Neb., the son of Peter and Helen (Weisler) Hoesing. He graduated from Maskell (Neb.) High School. On Feb. 9, 1948, he married Dorothy H. Crombie in Newcastle. He farmed near Newcastle for many years. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and sang in the church choir. He served on the Missouri River Stabilization Board. He enjoyed doing carpentry work and painting. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; two stepdaughters, Karen Blatchford of South Sioux City, and Judith Blatchford-Clary of Jackson, Miss.; two brothers and their wives, James and Barbara Hoesing and Fintan and Mary Jane Hoesing, all of Newcastle; a sister-in-law, Joyce Hoesing of Vermillion, S.D.; four grandchildren, Carl Stotland, Lisa Day, Stephanie Hills and Marla Stotland; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rudolph and Harold Hoesing. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Clair, Stanley, Rodney, Michael, Alfred and Bernard Hoesing.
