He was born February 5, 1921, in Big Timber, the son of Anton and Karen Vorseth Ronning. He was baptized and confirmed in the Big Timber Lutheran Church. Read More	Big Timber Pioneer, December 30, 1994 Lloyd Ronning, 73 passed away Thursday afternoon December 22, 1994, at his home in Big Timber. He was born February 5, 1921, in Big Timber, the son of Anton and Karen Vorseth Ronning. He was baptized and confirmed in the Big Timber Lutheran Church. He attended Big Timber Public School and Sweet Grass County High School. As a young man, he worked at Lacklen's Service Station in Big Timber, which is now the Town Pump. He also helped construct the Boulder telephone line during the time he was married to Alice Berg. He worked in the mines in Butte, for Nye's Dairy and did carpentry in Billings. During WWII he served in the U. S. Air Force at Shepherd Field in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was later stationed at the U. S. Air Force Base in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. On Mary 2, 1961 Lloyd married Charlotte Esp Gorder at the First Congregational Church in Billings. Many homes and fireplaces have been built by Lloyd in the Big Timber, Livingston and Bozeman area. He was also courier for Federal Express. Lloyd loved to relax with his accordion harmonica and guitar. He also loved animals, anything Norwegian, and the warmth of home. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; sister Jennie Snyder, both of Big Timber; a son, Dick and his wife, Linda Liquin of Boise, Idaho; daughter Shannon (Mrs. Jack Plaggemeyer) of Big Timber; four grandsons, Troy and Brian Liquin, Rick Schrieber, and Josh Plaggemeyer; five granddaughters, Sara, Karen, and Leah Plaggemeyer, Amy Schrieber, and Amanda Shipley. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alfred; and sisters Alice Algard, Edna Jones, and Clara Wright. Memorial services were held December 26 from the Lowry Funeral Home with Reverend James Holmlund officiating. Deanna Novotny was the vocalist, accompanied by Debby Arlian. Selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Den Store Hvide Flok". Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Contributor: Julia Kinsey (48922386
