OBITUARY: Oscar Swedberg Oscar S. Swedberg, the son of Andrew and Johanna (Alf) Swedberg, was born on a farm in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on January 3, 1890, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 31, 1993, at the age of 103 years, 9 months, and 28 days. He attended School District #51, near the family farm. On August 9, 1911, he was united in marriage to Blanche Fulton. They were involved in farming, and in the early 1920's, they moved to a farm northeast of Aurora, where they raised their family. In the summer of 1934, he was the first farmer to put down an irrigation well on his farm. They retired from the farm in 1954, and moved into Aurora, where he built his home on 9th Street. Blanche preceded him in death on October 2, 1961. On July 20, 1964, he was married to Elsie Carlson. They entered the Hamilton Manor in 1984, and Elsie preceded him in death on March 15, 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, a son Erle, who gave his life in World War II; 5 brothers, Carl, Josiah, Elam, Ernest, and Edward; 2 sisters, Ruth Swedberg, and Esther Weedin; one granddaughter and one grandson. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Marilyn Kuster and her husband Ervin of Roca, Nebraska, and Maurine Holmberg and her husband, Rev. Rodney, of Northbrook, Illinois; 4 granddaughters, one grandson, and 13 great grandchildren.
