Read More	SERVICES HELD FOR CAPT. O. T. HOWARD BOAT BUILDER DIED LAST THURSDAY Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church for Capt. Oscar T. Howard, who died in the Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury the previous Thursday morning. He was 77 years of age. He was the son of the late William and Mary E. Howard of Leemont, Va., and the husband of Arintha Florence Howard, who survives him. Capt. Howard had been making his home in Crisfield for almost forty years, and during most of that time had been engaged in the shipbuilding industry. He was a mechanic of exceptional ability who could plan, make patterns for and build boats both large and small. He had been with the Crisfield Machine & Boat Works for the past five years, and before that had been with the old Nelson Marine Railways for a long time. Most of his work in late years had been in a supervisory capacity, where his knowledge and skill were most valuable. A man of quiet demeanor, Capt. Oscar was respected for his courteous manner, his high sense of honesty, for putting into practice his Christian faith, and for his friendliness and helpfulness on all occasions. He was a member of the Official Board of Mt. Pleasant Church where he was regular in attendance and liberal in his contributions. Devoted to his home and family, Capt. Howard displayed in his daily life affection and regard for family and friends which won him the admiration and respect for all who knew him. The attendance at the funeral and the lovely flowers banking his casket were tokens of the affection in which he was generally held. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. A. T. McFarland, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Church, assisted by Dr. J. Yancey Fincher, pastor of the Marion Baptist Church. Interment was in the Crisfield cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Arintha Florence Howard, four sons, Ira R. Howard, Charles K. Howard and Arthur P. Howard, all of Crisfield, and William M. Howard of Arlington, Va., and two daughters, Mrs. Rennie Cartwright of Salisbury, Md. and Mrs. Beatrice Milby of Tampa, Fla., four brothers, Webster Howard, William Howard, Roland Howard and Edward Howard, all of Parksley, Va., one sister, Mrs. William Shrieves of Parksley, Va., six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
