Morrow, a retired mail carrier, was fatally burned at his home in Douds between 10 and 11 p.m. Saturday, by a fire which probably started when he fell asleep while smoking. Mr. Morrow lived alone. His son, Dale, returning to his own home nearby, noticed light from the fire through a window. He summoned aid to extinguish the flames. The body was found on the floor with most of the clothing burned off. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Pedrick funeral home in Douds with burial in Zion Lutheran cemetery north of Douds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OSCAR T. MORROW Oscar Thomas Morrow, son of Thomas David and Eliza Hendricks Morrow, was born Feb. 2, 1883, in Douds, Iowa, and departed this life Dec. 16, 1944, age 61 years, 10 months and 14 days. As a young man he became a rural mail carrier and continued in this work for 32 years until he was retired due to ill health. He was married to Lena Bott on Oct. 13, 1904, and to this union were born four children: Mrs. Crete Wiley and Dale Morrow of Douds; Mrs. Florence Jones of Ottumwa; and Mrs. Dorothy Randall of Keosauqua, all of who survive. He also leaves to mourn their loss one sister, Mrs. A.C. Liming of Hillsdale, Okla., and one brother, George E. Morrow of Enid, Okla., also six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
