Description	:	Otis Wayne Meyer was born January 10, 1915 at home in southern Tripp County, the first child of Grover and Anna May (Dunten) Meyer. He attended Longview School and graduated from Winner High School in 1933. He then farmed with his father, worked for neighbors during harvest, and also worked on Grand Coulee Dam in Washington state in 1937 and 1938. Read More	Otis Wayne Meyer was born January 10, 1915 at home in southern Tripp County, the first child of Grover and Anna May (Dunten) Meyer. He attended Longview School and graduated from Winner High School in 1933. He then farmed with his father, worked for neighbors during harvest, and also worked on Grand Coulee Dam in Washington state in 1937 and 1938. Otis was united in marriage to Virginia Bell on Feb. 20, 1941, and to this union five children were born. They made their home on a farm southwest of Winner, until Otis retired from farming in 1983 and he and Virginia moved to Winner. Otis was a member of Star Prairie Baptist Church near Clearfield. After his retirement, Otis invested his time in collecting odds and ends he picked up at farm auctions around the county. His two specialties became cookie jars and lemon squeezers. Otis loved to visit with people and loved to make them laugh. He wrote many letters to relatives and often included a poem that he had written. Otis passed away August 18, 1991 at the Baptist Hospital of Winner. Funeral services were held August 22 at the Baptist Church in Winner with Pastor Terry Jorgensen officiating. Survivors include his wife Virginia; his brothers Lloyd of Carter and Norman of Clearfield; his sister Merle Jorgensen of Clearfield; five children and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant granddaughter.
