Description	:	At 7:30 o'clock on the morning of February 7, 1918, Otis Witter Warner passed away from this life, ages 92 years, 11 months and 1 day. He was the son of Otis Warner of Hinsdale, Mass., and his wife Esther Potter, of New London, Conn., and was born at Leroy, Lake county, Ohio, March 6, 1825. Read More	At 7:30 o'clock on the morning of February 7, 1918, Otis Witter Warner passed away from this life, ages 92 years, 11 months and 1 day. He was the son of Otis Warner of Hinsdale, Mass., and his wife Esther Potter, of New London, Conn., and was born at Leroy, Lake county, Ohio, March 6, 1825. During the early part of his life, he traveled over a great portion of the United States and in 1849, like many others he crossed the plains to the gold fields of California. After his return from California he bought a farm near what was known as Eight Mile Grove, Henry County, Illinois. On the 27th day of February, 1855, he was united in marriage with Martha Turner, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Turner at Cordova, Rock Island County, Illinois. They made their home at his farm in Henry county until May 25, 1866, when they started by wagon across the prairies to Iowa, where in the summer of the same year they bought a farm which lies one mileage east of Clemons. Mr and Mrs Warner were among the oldest settlers of Central Iowa, having lived on the same farm for nearly fifty-two years. Otis Warner gave his heart and life to God at the age of 60 years and during the last thirty-three years of his life he was a devout worshiper and though confined to his bed and chair for the last twenty seven years, in a very great degree an optimist whose faith never wavered. He was the father of twelve children and is survived by his wife and six daughters and two sons. They are Mrs J A Shepard of this city; Mrs J C Hurst of Orlando, Oklahoma; Mrs Edw. Eggleston of Macon, Missouri; Mrs F J LaPlant of Bazaar, Kansas; Mrs A W Monroe of Liberty, Iowa; Mrs J W Smith of Clear lake, Iowa; Thomas and Ernest Warner of Clemons. Twenty-six grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren and many friends also remain to mourn the departed. The funeral services were held at the Christian church at Clemons on Sunday, February 10th, Rev George P Jecklin conducting the services. February 14, 1918 State Center Enterprise.
