He had been in ill health for several months. Mr. Boettger was a retired painter and paper hanger. He was born in Davenport March 17, 1885, but spent most of his life in Ottumwa. Survivors include a stepson, Albert Bower of Ottumwa; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Pansy Hartman and Mrs. Edna Hainline, both of Ottumwa; 12 step-grandchildren; 28 step-great-great-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-great-grandson. He was the last of his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, who died July 29, 1963. The service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. A.D. Pringle, pastor of the Ottumwa Baptist Temple, will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
