Description	:	Otto John Wilts, 88, of Shell Rock, Iowa, died Saturday evening at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, of natural causes. Otto was born on June 21, 1913, near Steamboat Rock, Iowa, the son of John and Janna Jaspers Wilts. He attended Shiloh No. 9 school in Grundy County, Iowa. While attending school, Otto worked as a farm hand. Following his schooling Otto continued farming. He was a life long farmer. Otto was united in marriage to Johanne ''Jo'' Jaspers in Dubuque, Iowa. Read More	Otto John Wilts, 88, of Shell Rock, Iowa, died Saturday evening at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, of natural causes. Otto was born on June 21, 1913, near Steamboat Rock, Iowa, the son of John and Janna Jaspers Wilts. He attended Shiloh No. 9 school in Grundy County, Iowa. While attending school, Otto worked as a farm hand. Following his schooling Otto continued farming. He was a life long farmer. Otto was united in marriage to Johanne ''Jo'' Jaspers in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple established their home on a farm southwest of Shell Rock, Iowa, where they lived for 35 years. In 1975 the couple moved to their present home in Shell Rock where they lived until Johanne ''Jo'' died on May 27, 2000. Following Johanne's death, Otto continued to live in his present home. Otto was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon for a number of years and a member of the Jefferson Township Community Club for 50 years. In 1957 he joined the Trinity Reformed Church in Allison, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, card playing and volunteering at the church. Otto is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a special uncle to all and provided great love and support. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Johanne ''Jo'' on May 27, 2000; one brother, Abraham Wilts of Ackley; and two sisters, Fanny Luiken and Ordie Reiter, both of Wellsburg. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Reform Church in Allison, Iowa with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.
