It bears the following inscription: "Erected by Loie M. Royce in memory of her dear pupils who died during the blizzard of January 12, 1888. They were: Otto Rosburg, nine; Hattie Rosburg, seven (children of Conrad Rosburg); and Peter Poggensee, nine, son of Hans Poggensee.
