Patricia was born on February 29, 1932, in Woodbine, Iowa, but lived in Colorado for most of her life. Read More	Daily Times-Call, The (Longmont, CO) - Wednesday, August 19, 2015 Patricia Duensing, 83, of Longmont passed away at Longmont United Hospital on August 16, 2015. Patricia was born on February 29, 1932, in Woodbine, Iowa, but lived in Colorado for most of her life. As a young child, she moved to Climax, Colorado, with her mother Zella Lizer Adams, and her brother Bob, after the death of their father, James Adams. Zella later married Howard Horn and to this union, a sister MaryJane Horn Klepac was born. The family lived in Denver for a short time before moving to Longmont, where Patricia graduated from Longmont High School, in 1949. She married Roland Duensing in 1950. Their children are William, Michael Scott, Belinda and Mark. Patricia worked for the University of Colorado for many years working with and being around students. She often spoke fondly of her enjoyment working with these young people and of their infectious energy. Throughout life, Patricia demonstrated her strong community spirit, often volunteering to improve the lives of others. For many years, she worked as a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer, delivering hot meals in Longmont. Patricia loved the mountains, and after her retirement she spent summers working in Yellowstone Park where she could share her love of nature with the visitors. Her last home in Longmont was the St. Vrain Manor, where she worked in the library, organized movie nights, and enlivened other common activities. She was a founding, faithful, and active member of the local congregation of the Community of Christ, serving as an Elder for many years. Preceding her in death were her husband Roland and son Scott. She is survived by William, Belinda, and Mark, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and sister, MaryJane Klepac. A Memorial Service will be held at the Community of Christ Church, 641 Martin Street in Longmont, at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 21. A reception will follow at St. Vrain Manor, 606 Pratt Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Longmont Community of Christ Building Fund. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
