Description	:	LONGMONT, Colo. - Roland Lavern Duensing, 75, Longmont, Colo., formerly of Odell, Neb., died of congestive heart failure Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at the Boulder County Hospice Care Center. He had been ill with Alzheimer's disease for the past three years. He was born April 1, 1928, in Washington County, Kan., the son of William and Anna (Klaus) Duensing. Read More	LONGMONT, Colo. - Roland Lavern Duensing, 75, Longmont, Colo., formerly of Odell, Neb., died of congestive heart failure Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at the Boulder County Hospice Care Center. He had been ill with Alzheimer's disease for the past three years. He was born April 1, 1928, in Washington County, Kan., the son of William and Anna (Klaus) Duensing. After graduating from high school in Odell, Neb., he moved to Longmont, where he met and married Patricia Adams. He held a variety of jobs before working at Sundstrand Aviation Corporation in Denver. He worked as a tool and cutter grinder for 25 years until retiring in 1990. In retirement, he kept busy with various jobs, most memorably the time spent in the national park system at Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family, and had scaled Longs Peak twice. He was active at Community of Christ Church. Survivors: wife, Patricia; sons, Dr. William Duensing of Wyomissing Hills, Pa., Mark of Longmont; daughter, Belinda Nichols of Bayville, N.J.; grandchildren, Kim Goldman of St. Louis, Mo., Dr. Kevin Miller of Pekin, Ill., Roxanne Strand of Bayville, N.J., Serena Duensing of Longmont, Amber Nichols of Bayville, N.J.; sister, Donna Miller of Beatrice, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Duensing of Beatrice, Neb., MaryJane Klepac of Berthoud; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna (Klaus) Duensing; a son, Scott (1994); brother, Norman Duensing; brother-in-law, Robert Adams. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, Community of Christ Church, Longmont, Colo. Erlinger Cremation Services of Colorado in charge of arrangements.
