Born in Cumberland, MD on March 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn (McCrea) and Elmer Grapes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie E. "Les" Benson, Sr.; grandson, Leslie E. Benson, III, sisters, Clara Crites and husband Frank, Dorothy Steinla and husband Paul , Helen Heaton and husband Jack, Eleanor Shelley and husband Robert, and Edna Wilson and husband David; brother, David Grapes. Pat was a mother and homemaker who lived in Mexico Farms most of her life. Known as Mom Mom by her family and friends. Pat was a founding member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church. Within the church, she had served in many positions. Pat was an avid bowler who participated in many local bowling leagues. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Deborah A. Lee and husband John, Leslie E. "Butch" Benson, Jr. and wife Karen, and Lisa M. Carney and husband Galen; grandchildren, Jeffrey Lee, Sr. and wife Shannon, John Lee and wife Megan, Julie Lee, Bradley Benson, Brian Benson, and Gavin Carney, great grandchildren, Jeffrey Lee, Jr. and wife Rachael, Austin Lee, Isaac Lee, Evelynn Lee, and Ty Lee; great great grandchildren, Jeffrey Lee, III, and Maria Lee; brother, Richard Grapes and wife Jackie, sister-in-law, Donna Largent. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 4-7 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at the Memorial Heights Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Noon. Burial will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
