Description	:	Patricia C. O'Brien, 85, Topeka, passed away June 10, 2008. Pat was born November 4, 1922 in Topeka, the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Mary (Hoffman) O'Connor. She graduated from Capital Catholic High (Hayden) and St. Mary College, Leavenworth. She lived a year in Hawaii, on the island of Honolulu, where she began her medical career at The Queen's Hospital. She was fun loving, played tournament tennis and golf and played bridge with her friends. She traveled and skied in Austria and Switzerland. Pat was born November 4, 1922 in Topeka, the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Mary (Hoffman) O'Connor. She graduated from Capital Catholic High (Hayden) and St. Mary College, Leavenworth. She lived a year in Hawaii, on the island of Honolulu, where she began her medical career at The Queen's Hospital. She was fun loving, played tournament tennis and golf and played bridge with her friends. She traveled and skied in Austria and Switzerland. Pat retired as a medical technologist from the VA Hospital after which she moved to the Valencia area where she enjoyed gardening and country living. She was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Thomas M. O'Brien; grandchildren, Eirin and Katherine O'Brien; her sister, Sheila Radell, all of Topeka; and a nephew, Tom Murray, Dallas TX. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Murray. Family will greet friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Mater Dei Holy Name Church, where a rosary will be prayed at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mater Dei Parish. Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
