Pat was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Defiance, OH, and was the daughter of Arnold and Florence (Smolenske) Marckel. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Fredrick Dallape; daughters, Sandra Elliott Longenecker (Steve) of West Milton, OH, and Karen Bricker (Richard) of Stone Mountain, GA; and son, Daniel Tuttle (Jane) of Defiance, OH. Pat is survived by four grandchildren, Kerry, Kristin, Kylie and Michael; six great-grandchildren, Caleb, Hailey, Beckett, Olivia Grace, Finn and Camden; three siblings, brother Fred Marckel (Lucy) of Defiance, OH, Joyce Mohr (John) of Defiance, OH, and Marilyn Ryan (John, deceased) of Indianapolis, IN; and many loving nieces, and nephews and extended family members. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Florence Marckel, and her beloved Aunt Doris "Dodo" Bates. Memorial service was held Sept. 22 at the United Methodist Church in Fairfield Glade, with Pastor Jay Archer officiating. No one could deny that Pat loved life. Having lived in ten states during her 47 years of marriage to Fred, she had the good fortune to experience all that life has to offer. Pat and Fred moved to Fairfield Glade in 1997, where they entered their golden years filled with her favorite hobbies, which she shared with many wonderful friends. Pat was artistic in so many ways. Painting piqued her interest while they lived in Danville, IL. She enjoyed painting with oils, watercolors and some chalks. Many family members have "Pat Dallape" originals hanging on their walls. Gardening was another artistic expression Pat had a knack for. Pat came from a long family line of gardeners and she had the most beautiful gardens that she tended to with the kind of love she had for life itself. Her gardens in Fairfield Glade were featured on numerous garden tours. One of her greatest passions was the game of golf. She began golfing in her 30s and quickly developed a love of the game, and she was good! Just a few notable golf accomplishments include a hole-in-one in Broken Arrow, OK, and winning the Ladies Club Championship in 1990 at Mohawk Golf Club in Tiffin, OH. She was also on a traveling team with Saticoy Country Club in Camarillo, CA, playing clubs up and down the coast of California, including Riviera, Sandpiper and the famous Pebble Beach County Club. In Fairfield Glade, she played with the Hot Shots, the VIPs and played for years with the Partee Girls. Pat had an Eagle when she turned 80. In addition to the game of golf, Pat had a passion for playing cards. She played several times a week with her friends and weekends with Fred and other couples. She loved playing Hand and Foot, Euchre, Skip-Bo and Pinochle. Despite all of her hobbies, there was no doubt that the most important thing to Pat was her family and friends. There was nothing she would not do for her husband, brother and sisters, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and everyone in between. Her family loved her, too. Despite her illness, Pat was fortunate to travel to Defiance, OH, in June for an impromptu family reunion where 52 of her relatives came to wish her well and visit. She taught all of us, even up to the very end, to work hard, never give up and always to have a kind word and smile. Laughter was her strongest trait and we will never forget her beautiful spirit and smile. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Fairfield Glade, Hospice of Cumberland County or the American Cancer Society of Tennessee. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
