(Kerchner) Motter, 82, formerly of Menges Mills, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord Jesus at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Homewood of Plum Creek, Hanover. She was the loving wife of Warren J. Motter, with whom she was blessed with over 56 years of marriage. Born July 23, 1926, in Hanover, Patricia was one of 12 children of the late Carroll R., Sr. and Nora E. (Sterner) Kerchner. She was the loving wife of Warren J. Motter, with whom she was blessed with over 56 years of marriage. Born July 23, 1926, in Hanover, Patricia was one of 12 children of the late Carroll R., Sr. and Nora E. (Sterner) Kerchner. Patricia was formerly employed at Spring Grove Area School District in cafeteria service and also at Dentsply International in York. Her life was primarily devoted to making a loving home for her husband and children. As a child, she attended the former Miller's one room school in Codorus Township. A faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Patricia sang joyfully in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. Her friends and family enjoyed her gracious hospitality when she baked each a special cake and served as the ultimate party hostess. In addition to her husband, Warren, she will be sadly missed by her five children, Clifford J. Motter of Dover, Warren J. "Jeffrey" Motter of Elmira, N.Y., Debra J. Richards of Hanover, Perry J. Motter of Hanover, and Bryan J. Motter of Spring Grove; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Patricia is also survived by a brother, Robert G. Kerchner of Spring Grove; and five sisters, Betty J. Myers, Nancy M. Beyer, and Emma J. "Dolly" Myers, all of Spring Grove, Shirley A. Mandell of Titusville, Fla., and Kathye J. Boyle of Chicago, Ill. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald L. "Bud" Kerchner, Carroll R. "June" Kerchner, Jr., and Jacob N. Kerchner; and two sisters, Norene D. Bankert and Grace V. Foller. She will be laid to rest in Jefferson Cemetery following the service. Published in the York Daily Record & York Dispatch on 11/22/2008
