Pat was born on June 6, 1935, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Walter August and Anna Dorothy (Simon) Engel. Pat was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. She attended country school in Butler County near Clarksville, was a graduate of the Clarksville High School and also attended U.N.I. in Cedar Falls and Wartburg College in Waverly. Pat was born on June 6, 1935, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Walter August and Anna Dorothy (Simon) Engel. Pat was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. She attended country school in Butler County near Clarksville, was a graduate of the Clarksville High School and also attended U.N.I. in Cedar Falls and Wartburg College in Waverly. On August 3, 1952, Pat was united in marriage to Dallas Duane Berger at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. Pat worked for PCA in Waterloo as a bookkeeper and also as a social worker at the Bremer County Home. Pat was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Denver. In her spare time Pat enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. Pat is survived by her husband, Dallas Berger of Denver, Iowa; her daughter, Susan K. Aegerter of Shorewood, Illinois; two sons, Scott A. (Lois) Berger of Shorewood, Illinois, and Ted A. (Sonja K.) Berger of Morris, Illinois; 6 grandchildren, Angie Aegerter of Joliet, Illinois, Michelle (Brian) Krolack of Joliet, Illinois, Alex (Naoko) Berger of Schaumburg, Illinois, Alicia Berger of San Diego, California, Heath (Francesca) Berger of Morris, Illinois, and Clifton (Katie) Berger of Cartersville, Georgia; and 5 great grandchildren, Tyler Aegerter, Madelyn Reed, Drew Ashack, Augustus Berger and Max Berger. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Dorothy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Denver, with Pastor Larry Feldt officiating. Lunch will follow the church service and burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, rural Clarksville, following the lunch. Public visitation will be held on Saturday October 15th from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Denver.
