''''''''''' May 21, 1936, p. 1, col. 5 Patrick Clark Is Buried Saturday Early Resident Succumbs After Four-Year Illness Caused By Stroke Funeral services for Patrick Clark, 68, who passed away last Thursday morning, were held in St. Anthony's church Saturday morning at 9:00 o'clock and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Father Vermullen, pastor, officiated at the services. Mr. Clark suffered a paralytic stroke about four years ago and had been disabled and bedfast most of the time since. His condition was critical several times, but survived each shock before the last, although they left him weaker. Patrick F. Clark was born March 2, 1867 in Richland, Wis. He spent his early life there. Upon coming to Cedar Rapids he engaged in farming, living southwest of town most of the time. He was married on July 30, 1899 to Zella M. King. Eight children were born to this union, three of whom preceded him in death. He leaves a wife and five children: James M. Clark of Arlington, Va., Joseph T. of Belgrade, Catherine R. Batty of Montrose, Colo., Zella R., of Cedar Rapids, and Patrick of Fresno, Calif. He also leaves four grandchildren.
