Highland Recorder April 12, 1907 Mrs. Patty Peterson, wife of Davis H. Peterson, was born Jan. 17, 1876, and died April 10, 1907, aged 31 years. She was the daughter of T. H. and Margaret C. SIaven, the youngest member of a large family. At the age of 14 she was converted in a meeting in the M. E. church, South, which church she joined, being a member thereof at the time of her death. She was married to Davis H. Peterson Feb. 21, 1900. Those of her immediate family who survive her, are her husband and three-year-old child, Charles, her father, T. H. Slaven, her brothers. Harry F., Thos. H. and Howard M., and her sisters, Mrs. L. A. Carichoff and Mrs. M. L. Ogilvie, all of this place, and Mrs. A. W. Reynolds and Miss May Slaven, of Princeton, W. Va. Mrs. Peterson had been a sufferer for two years, having been confined to her bed several times by illness. She has ever been a consistent member of the church and a loyal christian. Her scrupulous conscientiousness even in trifling things has been frequently remarked up. At 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, surrounded by the members of her family, she fell on sleep. The funeral service was held in the Methodist church on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
