In failing health the past five years, he had been seriously ill for 10 days. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Krakow, Rev. Fr. Stefan Flesiak will officiate, with burial in the parish cemetery. He was born May 1, 1890 in Poland, the son of John and Regina Marsolek Cygan, and came to the United States when 17 years of age. His early years in Nebraska were spent in the Tarnov and Platte Center communities. Mr. Cygan was married to Agatha Mortiz on Feb 10, 1915, and she died Oct. 20, 1918. Mr Cygan's second wife, Sophia Olsufka, whom he married July 6, 1920, died on Jan. 20, 1957. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Mr. Cygan is survived by one daughter, Miss Mary Cygan, and one son, Stanley, both at home; and a brother, Andrew, of Chicago. For the last 18 years, MR. Cygan, a farmer, had resided south of Monroe. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church.
